Head of IT Solutions - Operations & Services

Role Introduction
Reports to: General Manager, IT Solutions
To ensure that each responsible business unit of Cathay Pacific Group’s business domain has competitive & effective IT solutions aligned to its business strategies as well as corporate priorities. These solutions shall be designed, built, deployed, operated and supported in an agile and efficient way that ensure Cathay Pacific could realise sustainable business value. The consolidated portfolio of applications should contribute to the evolution of the entire landscape in a synergistic way.
Accountable to General Manager – IT Solutions for delivering followings & servicing the portfolio of the Chief Operation & Service Delivery Officer and the Chief Financial Officer
Responsibilities
- Business Engagement
 Ensure the needs of business units within your domain are well understood and supported by IT
 Ensure business units within your domain are able to drive maximum value out of their IT environment , identify and prioritize opportunities
- Strategic Direction and Standards
 Develop overall IT investment plan and accountable for prioritization, primarily for business units supported by your solution centre but also for business units that your systems impact
 Oversee the execution of the application roadmap within your domain and measure the overall health of your application portfolio of how well the business is supported in executing its roles ,technological health & cost effectiveness
 Work with Enterprise and Solution Architects to plan, direct and manage the exploitation of current installed technology and capability to enable reuse and to reduce the need to implement new standalone packages
 Provide consistent leadership to the IM Team and lead your domain
- Application and Data Ownership
 Develop and maintain knowledge of key systems and technologies utilized in your domain
 Work with the Enterprise and Solution Architects to drive rationalizing and retiring existing legacy systems
 Keep abreast of the technology roadmaps within your domain and how upgrades and updates can benefit the enterprise
 Cross-units collaboration to assign application and data ownership and work with other application managers and enterprise architecture to improve the flow of data across the organization
 Ensure all IT project and BAU activities are compliant with data governance and security governance
- Solution Formulation and Delivery
 Oversee & accountable for end-to-end solution design, delivery and subsequent support of solutions
 Identify & formulate cost effective solutions to business problems
 Cross-team collaboration with other teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and leverage existing capabilities where possible
 Manage the delivery solutions/projects
 Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with our policies and standards and to enable on-going support in a cost efficient manner and consistency with our technology policy and strategy
 Contribute a balanced inputs across technology, innovation, project risks, operation & sustainable commercial values into the solution’s business case and accountable for the delivery of outcomes
 Formulate strategy and execution plan across solution portfolio to deliver solutions for enterprise digital transformation strategy for world-class customer centric experience, data driven business decision making and industrial transformational revolution
- People Management
 Manage a team with a core skill set to exploit its installed and future technology and coach employees to achieve excellent levels of performance
 Motivate team members and strategic partners including technology starts up to develop and operate in an agile, innovative & collaborative partnership to deliver strategic values
- Financial Management
 Manage service delivery within budgets
 Provide required information and analysis for budgeting and planning process, and ensure that the IT financial inputs for building business cases and project plans are of the highest quality
- Vendor Management
 Manage vendors in the delivery of cost effective and timely systems development and support
 Work with vendors continue to bring relevant technical skills and innovation in your domain to Cathay Pacific
 Work with related stakeholders to develop a strategic & sustainable partnership to deliver strategic values
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of IT experience with 6 years of management experience
- Tertiary qualifications
- Proven eExperience in managing a large team of technology professionals (that includinge in-house, external, off-shore resources) to run strategic IT projects and support IT systems
- Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally and in written formats to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
- Focus on the end user’s or customer’s needsCustomer centric; ability to set expectations and understand end user behavior
- Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
