Senior Manager, Institute for Translational Reseatch (Medical Diagnostics) [HKSTP/SMITRMD/211123]
The journey of brining innovative biomedical technologies from discovery to the public is long, risky, and expensive. As companies advance from the discovery phase though development to pre-clinical to clinical phases, the benefit to the public and the value also increase while the risk decreases. The missions of Institute for Translational Research of HKSTP are to expedite the translation of biomedical technologies to benefit the public, to instil researchers with entrepreneurial mindset and skills for translational research, and to establish Hong Kong as a preeminent hub for translational research and development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with biomedical technology companies in HKSTP to expedite their growth and success;
- Ensure satisfactory customer journey at HKSTP including admission application, document validation, technical assessment, due diligence, and site selection;
- Support biomedical technology companies on grant/funding applications, R&D plan implementation, collaborator connection, business development and investment attraction;
- Work closely with other teams such as business development team and investment team, in attracting high caliber biomedical technology companies landing to HKSTP;
- Prepare board papers for getting approval on programs, which aims to further strengthen the biomedical technology ecosystem in HKSTP;
- Implement approved programs and identify improvement opportunities; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Life Science/Biomedical technology or related disciplines;
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in life sciences, particularly in diagnostics area, with customer facing experience would be an advantage;
- Good understanding of the latest development of advanced diagnostics, including but not limited to, precision medicine, companion diagnostics, and AI application in medical diagnosis and drug discovery;
- A proven track record of accomplishment in molecular and genomic medicine is highly preferred;
- A strong professional network in the region of Mainland would be an added advantage;
- Pro-active, versatile, mature, a flair for entrepreneurship and strong interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and external contacts; and
- A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese with excellent presentation skills.
- Candidates will less experience may be considered as Manager.
