Finance Manager 財務經理, Finance Department (Ref: FM / FD / 09-23)
The Salvation Army is an international Christian church and charity working in 133 countries and areas, and has been serving Hong Kong for over 90 years since 1930. With the commitment of transforming lives, caring for people and making disciples, we are currently operating over 80 social services units, 36 schools and education centre, 17 corps (churches) and 1 outpost, and 15 Family Stores in Hong Kong and Macau. There are offices in Yunnan Province and Sichuan Province for community development in these provinces.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for full-set accounting functions including consolidation.
- Assist in developing, reviewing and analysing all Fund Reports for the Territory Governance Council.
- Produce budgets and forecasting reports to management and stakcholders.
- Review, monitor and compare actual expenditures with budgets.
- Provide suggestions for long-term business plan to management and stakeholders.
- Develop strategy to minimise financial risk.
- Monitor tax filing and administration.
- Communicate and collaborate closely with other departments and units on all finance and operational matters.
- Lead and coordinate accounting activities such as annual stock take (if any), petty cash count, etc.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, bankers and other stakcholders.
- Lead regular review and strengthen internal control on financial related workflow.
Provide written guidelines and assist units to streamline, implement and maintain best practices on financial reporting through establishing, reviewing and implementing financial standards, internal financial policies and procedures/ operation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ensure implementation of audit recommendations (including but not limited to Education Bureau, Social Welfare Department and other regulators / funding bodies).
- Perform any other legitimate duties assigned by the superior(s).

Requirements
- An understanding of the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
- Degree in Accounting Finance or related disciplines.
- Certified Public Accountant with at least 8 years' relevant experience.
- Knowledge of financial accounting, taxation and audit standards.
- Hands on experience in accounting system, e.g. Oracle Financial System and MS Excel.
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Good organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving sfills with strong sense of responsibilities.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Occasional travelling may be required.
- Candidates with less experiences will be considered as Senior Accountant.
