We are looking for a Regional Head of People to join our Australian and New Zealand team in a 9-month fixed term Maternity Cover role.
Reporting to the Regional General Manager, this role is critical in providing strategic business partnership for all functions within the region to support business objectives. We are seeking a natural born leader, someone who is not afraid to deliver strategic outcomes and loves to enable a high-performance culture across the region.

Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, the individual will need to have led a people & culture function, have high emotional intelligence and be commercially minded.

- Establish regional best practice and drive collaboration within the region
- Contribute to the global Human Resource strategy to ensure fit for the region and be an active part of the global Cathay people community
- Drive the overall regional people strategy ensuring a strong link to global people initiatives
- Advise and guide the team including senior managers and the local people team to make sound decisions and implement people changes effectively
- Identify succession plans and work with leaders to develop future successors in a long term and supportive manner
- Draw on the global reward, compensation and benefit strategy and frameworks,
- Undertake the compensation management processes for the region
Requirements
- A degree in Human Resources or a closely related discipline
- 8+ years’ experience in a complex Human Resource environment
- Practical expertise in all areas of Human Resources
- Demonstrably strong influencing and negotiation, and conflict management skills
- Strong ER/IR experience
- Exemplary relationship building skills with the ability to partner equally with senior leaders as well as junior team members
- Experience in managing complexity across geographies and in a matrixed environment
- Superior communication skills across multiple channels being sensitive of cultural considerations
- Has a future focused approach and the proven ability to drive change
