Reports To: Head of Simulator
To be responsible for engineering work related to visual, hardware, software systems, Defect Management, compliance with regulation & Configuration control of CX Group and third party training devices.

Responsibilities
Engineering works:
- Design and develop solutions for visual systems, hardware or software and effectively manage defects on training equipment.
- Responsible for the completion of all software and hardware related Deferred Defects and SCARs on simulators, including visual modelling.
- Assign and monitor staff in completing software and hardware related Deferred Defects and SCARs on training equipment.
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems encountered in the operation including down time follow up.
- Raising deferred defects clearly detailing steps to be carried out to trouble shoot a failure and assign the task to the shifts.
- Coordinate with TDM and suppliers to resolve open defects.
- Actively participate in installation and acceptance of new or upgraded training equipment.
- Work closely with the management team on projects.
Research and Development:
- Evaluate research Mods and upgrades on training equipment and make recommendations as necessary to align with the Fleet.
- Develop custom visual systems, hardware or software utilities and tools for use in Simulator Engineering Section.
- Working closely with the Sim Training managers. Develop and implement lesson plans.
- Present simulator to STM or external customer for checking SCARs.
- Responsible for update of Ground Stations Database quality in simulators and training equipment.
- Develop and implement new functionality for training equipment.
Documentation:
- Ensure that program documentation is updated on completion of projects and SCARs.
- Prepare, review and update maintenance procedures for training devices.
- Supply data to section managers for update of regulatory evaluation status report.
Development:
- Keep in touch with up-to-date trends and technology related to design, operation and maintenance of training equipment and the simulation industry.
- Attend relevant conferences and industry events in order to share information on simulator related issues with other operators.
- Attend training courses provided by training equipment manufacturers
Staff Training:
- Prepare/update visual systems, hardware or software related training materials.
- Conduct in house training for new joiners and other staff as required.
Staff Management:
- To act as appraiser of staff members and engineering trainees as assigned.
- To be the tutor and mentor of staff members as assigned.
Others:
- To be available to work outside normal office hours as required.
- To be the assignee of Deferred Defects from other roles, as required by Sim Eng manager.
- To assist Sim Eng Manager in various responsibilities from the following list as assigned:
 Risk and safety management.
 Work place health and safety
 Environmental protection issues and dangerous substance handling.
 Fire Alarm systems
 UPS maintenance contractor engagement and oversight.
 Interface with Facility Maintenance.
 Tools and equipment maintenance.
 Planning of Scheduled maintenance Tasks.
 Assisting with the implementation of digitization across the section.
 Assisting with daily running of the Sim Stores.
 Assisting with section Budgets and other Admin matters when required to do so.
 To deputize for the Sim Engineering Manager when required.
Requirements
Knowledge
- University Degree holder.
- Good command of written and spoken English, able to communicate internally and externally at different organizational levels.

Experience
- Around 10 years relevant experience in the various Simulator functions including Quality Assurance.
- Any Simulator specific Training will be of added value.
- Leading a team of engineers and technicians.
- Experience on the certification and validation of a device for regulatory approval will be of added value.
