The purpose of this post is to lead sourcing, supply management and procurement of the Airline. The role involves management, administration, and supervision of sourcing activities in accordance with established procurement rules and policies. Objectives of the position include: rationalisation of suppliers and spend, cost optimisation by seeking best value for money, evaluation and selection of suppliers, contract negotiations and adherence to internal and external compliance requirements around diversity, social responsibility and sustainability.

Responsibilities
- Development and execution of category strategy: identifying and driving opportunities in conjunction with stakeholder departments and the Procurement Manager through supplier assessment and benchmarking processes and conducting detailed analytical work for planning purposes
- Change Management: drive consolidation of the supply base and find opportunities to optimise expenditure, simplify related processes, and ensure consistency across local/remote offices
- Market Research: understand the supplier market, existing solution offerings, future market trends, product alternatives, new business models, etc. Monitor the supply market that caters to our business needs
- Stakeholder Management: effectively develop and maintain strong working-level relationships with business stakeholders to promote spend management strategies and ensure overall alignment between the business and procurement objectives
- Leading end-to-end sourcing projects, from market research, preparation & management of RFx process using the Ariba e-sourcing platform, financial analysis, contract & commercial negotiations, team evaluation and contracting
- Provide advice to cross-functional teams to implement strategies and ensure that existing strategies are consistently improved and implemented
- Using SAP system for spend monitoring, ensuring best practice cost control mechanisms are in place
- Assisting and supporting the category manager in carrying out any other relevant duties which may be required
Requirements
- University graduate. Business and aviation related degrees are an advantage
- 2 to 5 years' relevant experience is an advantage
- A strong background in Procurement and a relevant professional qualification is an advantage (e.g. CIPS)
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience in supply market analysis, cost evaluation, and contract management is an advantage
- Ability to adapt and learn rapidly and be able to talk the language of the stakeholders
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and basic contract law
- Knowledge of Ariba e-procurement system is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and meet demanding deadlines
- Effective project management skills, numerate and good computer skills
- Excellent people skills; including the ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to inspire and build trust and respect among the APD community
- Demonstrated ability to define and implement strategies
- Approachable and decisive
- Willing to travel overseas as needed
