Overall purpose of the job
The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Integrity Specialist is required to develop and implement policies and programs that promote diversity and inclusion, and oversee integrity to external and internal requirements at Greenpeace East Asia (GPEA). It involves policy development, developing training and initiatives to create and foster an open and inclusive culture as well as an integrity framework in line with internal and external requirements. The position will serve as the Person of Trust for diversity and inclusion issues.
They are expected to lead projects in the region GPEA operates (i.e. Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo).

Scope
The job incumbent works under the general direction of the Organisation Support Director, and assumes responsibility for all diversity, inclusion and integrity issues. This position is responsible for reviewing and monitoring all GPEA policies to ensure they are effective. They demonstrate considerable independence and initiative with respect to decision-making, and provide leadership on the planning and development of strategies, plans and procedures. Decisions made by the position significantly impact the overall success and offices of GPEA. Discretion is exercised in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Responsibilities
Conceptual tasks, Strategy development and/or Project management
- Direct and oversee the planning, development and implementation of equity, diversity, inclusion strategy.
- Develop and implement projects according to the strategy.
- Provide knowledge-based guidance and counsel to management on issues related to one’s work area.
- Stay abreast of current and emerging developments relating to equity, diversity, inclusion and integrity issues. Analyze new developments in support of GPEA’s vision, objectives and strategies.

Implementation
- Liaise and build relationships with Greenpeace worldwide community and relevant external parties on issues of relevance to meeting equity, diversity, inclusion and integrity objectives.
- Influence and empower Greenpeace worldwide communities by sharing best practises and experience from GPEA.
- Provide expertise with respect to equity, diversity, inclusion and integrity areas. Maintain high-level knowledge on the issues related to responsible areas.
