Data Analyst & Insights Specialist, ANZ

The Data Analyst & Insights Specialist is an exciting new role at the heart of Cathay’s rebuilding phase. The role is responsible for data analysis and delivering actionable insights to drive improved outcomes for Cathay Pacific with a focus on revenue improvement.
This permanent full time role supports the creation and execution of our overall commercial strategy, incorporating our sales channels and broader market/segment strategies across Australia and New Zealand.
The Data Analyst & Insights Specialist will work with internal stakeholders to scope, build and deliver data visualisation solutions designed to provide insights and enable data driven decisions for the business. The role is key to maximise value from the visualisation assets through education to business, continuous optimisation and identifying new opportunities for actionable insights.
The role will support the culture of data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities
- Be the commercial performance expert to support our commercial strategies and plans
- Pro-actively identify performance trends, patterns and opportunities across the channels, markets and teams by translating and articulating actionable insights that will unlock business benefits
- Own the channel segmentation approach and identify opportunities to improve and gain market share for the relevant channels
- Define new regional data collection and analytical processes, including fostering a culture of continuous improvement that focuses on providing solutions and delivering results
- Be the expert on the suite of data tools available to Cathay Pacific and mentor the wider team on their application and use
- Own the regional incentive (tactical and ongoing) frameworks and refine as necessary
- Develop and maintain analytics and reporting models to support our sales objectives with key partners
- Mine incentive performance data to identify sales development opportunities with key stakeholders
Requirements
- Qualification or vocational experience in Business, Finance, Mathematics or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate highly technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex data and present it in accessible formats
- High levels of initiative with ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities
- Demonstrable track record in achieving results and consistently meeting/exceeding business goals
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and 'outside of the box'
- Experience in data visualisation design and development using QlikSense (preferably) or Tableau/PowerBI is an advantage.
- Knowledge of airline/travel management systems including DDS, MIDT and PRSIM is an advantage
- Being curious, with a love of knowledge and learning
