Location: Hong Kong
Reports to: Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management
The Project Accountant assists with the review and assessment of project investments, monitors compliance to project governance, undertakes Portfolio Management across CPA projects and oversees the benefits tracking reporting process. The individual will be highly motivated and work as part of a small team structure to provide financial and project governance across a portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities
Project Finances
- Assist with the assessment and analysis of proposed project investments
- Provide coaching and knowledge transfer on accounting treatment of project expenses to business units and project managers
- Coordinate appropriate financial accounting records, management information and reports for projects
- Review Project Change Requests
- Manage portfolio financials, budgets and forecasts
Benefits Realisation
- Support the review of benefits and provide advice to project teams on identifying KPIs and benefit tracking methodologies
- Work with business units to ensure the tracking of project benefits
- Collect and analyse data on benefits realisation
Project Governance
- Ensure projects teams’ compliance to corporate project governance process
- Support project teams in project dependency, risk and issue management as directed
- Review project closeout documentation for accuracy and completion
- Work across the portfolio to monitor the delivery of project outcomes
Portfolio Management
- Support the production of pipeline data analysis across dependencies, key resource needs, priorities and benefits
- Work across the portfolio to monitor the delivery of project outcomes
- Support the portfolio and project management tool (HP PPM) to ensure accurate, relevant and up-to-date information
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in ad hoc studies and investigations
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of PDLC processes, templates and systems
Project Management Methodology
- Support the ETPM communication and change activities to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the latest ETPM processes
Requirements
- Relevant degree and/or experience in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Professional designation in Accountancy preferable (potential candidates without professional designation will be considered for the EPMO Analyst / Coordinator position)
- Minimum 3 years of project or finance experience, or experience in working in PMO and/or managing projects, budget and financial tracking
- Strong analytical mind, organising and planning skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with a high standard of written and spoken English
- Agility to work within a team environment
- A quick learner with the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and attentive to details
- Strong reporting skills in producing reports, documentation and presentations, MS Excel experience
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
