Role Introduction
Reports to: Head of Distribution Strategy
The job holder will lead in the areas of New Distribution Capability (NDC) proposition, NDC functional development and roadmap. In addition, he/she will maintain the relationship with Global Distribution System, manage the GDS developments and contractual negotiations in order to execute CX’s distribution strategy and to meet distribution objectives. Moreover, he/she will need to develop, promote and manage CX’s B2B portal (named CXAgents.com) with the vision to make it a true one-stop shop for our travel agencies.
Responsibilities
- Support Head of Distribution Strategy to deliver the distribution channel blueprint, steer strategy in order to reduce overall distribution costs, formulate commercial agreements with partners to realise commercial objectives
- Thoroughly understand the commercial agreements with 3rd party vendors including GDS
- Manage key GDS relationships such as Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport etc on a day to day basis
- Assist to implement the next generation distribution capability, based on IATA’s NDC standard
- Drive NDC adoption in both existing and new distribution channel to enable more efficient means of distribution
- Ensure the GDS and distribution partners’ compliance with the international regulations and internal policies
- Develop strategy and roadmap for CXAgents.com as an effective platform to communicate with agents community and serve as an end-to-end one-stop shop/platform to improve customer experience and commercial cost
Requirements
- University graduate in business or relevant areas
- A minimum of 7 years of airline related experience
- Excellent business acumen with strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines independently and detail oriented
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
- Excellent understanding of distribution landscape in the worldwide context
- Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
- Solid understanding of IATA agents related resolutions and policies
- Experienced in contract negotiation
- Able to work cordially with other key stakeholders
- Ability to convince and motivate travel agencies to increase the use of self-services
