Assistant Manager Sustainable Development - Project and Engagement

Role Introduction

Reports to: Sustainable Development Manager
This position advocates for and promotes sustainable development within Cathay Pacific Group. The job holder will support the Sustainable Development Manager to deliver various sustainability initiatives, e.g. waste and plastic reduction, meeting reporting and disclosure requirements, as well as promoting sustainability awareness, understanding, and participation both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Sustainable Development Report: support overall development
- Coordinate and execute SD communications plan
- Internal engagement: follow up on SD initiatives identified by different business units
- Conduct SD awareness and education programme internally
- Support and run the SD ambassadors programme
- Develop SD Training for various business units, including sales or operational teams
- Daily operation of our voluntary carbon offset programme Fly Greener
- Support project execution and coordination for enhancement to Fly Greener programme
- Follow up on mitigation plan and actions regarding ESG risks in supply chain
- Support single-use plastic new baseline and target establishment, and to follow up on reduction initiatives
- Support waste baseline establishment, target setting, reduction roadmap, and to follow up on reduction initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or above degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related disciplines
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in environmental management, sustainable development, or aviation
- Sound understanding of sustainability issues, best practices, ESG reporting requirements
- A team player with strong influencing, planning and organising skills
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowing Cantonese & Mandarin will be a plus.
