Reports to: Regional Head of Lifestyle, Northeast Asia
Location / Country: Tokyo / Japan
Employment Condition: Contract (3 years) – possibly extended by another 2 years, or converted to permanent employment
This role as part of our expanding business (“Lifestyle” refers to the curated experience offered to our customers including shopping, holidays, dining, wellness, and payment), the successful candidate will partner with the Regional Head of Lifestyle, the local Cathay team and head office to grow the lifestyle business across Japan.
Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Planning
-Help to formulate and drive business strategy for Japan with the regional office to meet the agreed lifestyle objectives, support lifestyle priorities and achieve the lifestyle growth and revenue targets
-Monitor and review local business performance to meet strategic growth plans
-Propose new ideas and areas of improvement based on own knowledge of the local market, research and available consumer insights and lead change to support future business strategy
-Monitor the relevant budget expenditures

Lifestyle Partnerships
-Develop and manage local partnerships under the key lifestyle pillars, including payment, holidays, shopping, wellness and dining according to the Region’s Lifestyle objective to provide a network of partners to engage Cathay members through accrual and redemption propositions
-Manage relationships with partners and support operational requirements including commercial term negotiation, responding to partner enquiries, and entering contracts with partners as required
-Negotiate commercial offers for marketing promotions and campaigns to increase awareness of local partner propositions

Coordination with the local team
-Work with relevant Cathay teams including digital sales, marketing and business development to expand Cathay’s travel and lifestyle propositions in the local market
-Any other reasonable task as requested
Legal Compliance
-Work with the legal team in head office as required and local legal counsel to operate the lifestyle business in full compliance with local business and legal requirements, and facilitate the application of necessary licenses as required

E&A
-Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
-University degree in Marketing, Business Studies or a related discipline
-Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience, preferably with 3 years in a partnership position
-A background in marketing, ecommerce, banking or loyalty is an advantage
-Strong commercial mind-set with a good understanding of loyalty and rewards
-Excellent communication and problem solving skills
-Good marketing sense with a good grasp and understanding of consumer insights
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese
-Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
-Displays creativeness, dynamism and innovation
-Independent, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-Must have the legal right to live and work in Japan
Salary
JPY 537,450.00 Per Month
