Security Evangelist leverage their expertise to establish and promote security best practices at enterprise level and using various channels to spread the message
Responsibilities
As an IT Security evangelist, you will contribute to:
- The design and maintain security best practices including tools, patterns
- Work with Security architect to develop architecture policies and standards.
- Provide guidance and be a facilitator to ensure that standard security best practices are applied consistently and in a meaningful way on project.
- Share their experience and vision to build security awareness with business stakeholders, business/application/solution architecture, IT and operational teams.
- To raise awareness of security issues at enterprise level and different channels
- Become the go-to person for given security domain.
- Collect feedback from stakeholders, detect unaddressed security needs and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Advocate appropriate security practices are communicated and implemented within required projects.
- Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to Risk and Security processes and tools.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and training pathing for Security team members.
- Be active in evaluating and recommending new technologies.
- Must stay knowledgeable about, as well as introduce, new, advanced technologies that enhance business value.
- To work in close collaboration with Security team, Technology Managers, Enterprise Architecture Team and project team to build security standard and solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ solid technical and working experience in the IT Security
- Tertiary educations are desirable
- Experience in leading technology or architecture positions
- Ability to articulate a mid/long term vision for the evolution of the Security technologies
- Understanding of the technology trends driving corporate IT markets and Cyber Security.
- Proficient oral and written communications skills in English, sharing strategy and vision with both peers and management.
- Knowledge of federation, identity and access management
- Knowledge of security standards, security systems and authentication protocols
- Knowledge of cloud solutions & cloud security.
- Knowledge of Network security concepts, architecture and components
- Knowledge of architecture framework like TOGAF and IAF
- Solid understanding of public cloud environment and shared responsibility model
Relevant Security+ certification such as SANS, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, …
- Ability to prioritize and manage several projects or priorities simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels
- Strong acumen in vendor management and stakeholders management
- Experience using common automation tools
- Service oriented and good team player
- Keep others informed of issues of importance and relevance
- Provide support to all team members
- Knowledge of project management practices and ITIL processes
- Demonstrate ability to understand technical detail and able to collaborate with automation and development team
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
