The Aviation Medicine Team (AVM) of our Group Medical Department (GMD) is responsible for setting aviation medical policies and procedures, passenger medical clearances, pilot pre-employment and licensing medical examinations, aviation industry medical issues, and interface with Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD).This position would support all the administration and operation of the team

Responsibilities
- Aviation Medical:
Arrange and conduct Pre-employment Examinations and Tests and Renewal Licensing Medical Examinations accordingly to HKCAD requirements (including Vision tests, ECG, Audiogram, Colour Perception Test and Urine test.) and their home national certification for:
Cockpit Crew Selection
Cadet Pilot Programme
Cadet Scholarship Programme
Stimulator Instructor Candidates
- Administration:
Before the medical appointments, prepare the relevant documentations, files and reports which include medical forms, typing of medical certificates, payment slips, individual patient record cards for existing pilots and the application of HK License of newly joined pilots. Ensure all the relevant medical reports and examination paper works from pilot’s treating consultants if needed are ready for sending out to HKCAD or the national aviation authorities of other countries. Follow up if there is any outstanding documentation as required for submission.
Manage an accurate and proper filing and storage of the individual medical records and reports; responsible for the stock taking and maintenance of stock of the unit’s medical supplies and procurement stocks of licensing medical forms of other countries.
Compile different kinds of monthly statistics for licensing medicals under taken in the unit for HKCAD and other countries’ licensing authorities.
Handle telephone and email enquiries from pilots regarding the licensing medical appointments and the further arrangement with the Flight Operations Department, Flight Crew Recruitment Office and the Crew Administration Office. Liaise with HKCAD Personnel Licensing Office on issues concerning medical certification of pilots and Flight Engineers.
- Passenger Medical Clearance
Liaise with and obtain medical information from different internal and external parties in order to assess the fitness of the sick passengers.
Conducting Special Tests and Examinations e.g. Colour Vision Lantern Tests, etc.
Perform drug and alcohol testing including but not limited to breathalyser, urine, blood and hair testing for the purpose of fitness for duty assessment, post incident, suspicious cause, continuous assessment and random testing. The testing might be done at non-office hour or weekends.
Assist in the review of medical certificate and the appropriate follow up for both short term and long term sickness

Requirements
- Right of abode in Hong Kong.
- Hong Kong Registered Nurse with minimum 3 years clinical experience.
- Oversee medical training and work experience is a plus.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Working knowledge in using MS Office i.e. Word and Excel.
- A good team player with polished interpersonal and communication skills to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- An assertive, self-motivated and patient team-player who can exercise a high level of professionalism and sound judgment at all times
