Highlight
The position is responsible for galley loading planning and loading specifications, including space, ratios, standard and safety for both passenger and freighter aircraft. The incumbent needs to communicate requirements to caterers and various sections or departments concerned. He/she is responsible for setting and controlling galley packing standards and specifications including space and weight for all aircraft types to ensure they are in line with the agreed service concepts and standards. He/she will also ensure accurate and timely communication galley packing instructions to caterers and all parties concerned to warrant an overall smooth operations, at the same time comply with all local and international regulatory and operational health and safety requirements. The role will provide galley pantry weight to Engineering (ENG) and Flight Operations (FOP).
Responsibilities
-Maintain all galley packing diagrams (passenger and freighter) and associated galley packing parts data in the system.
-Create, analyse and assign galley packing change requests.
-Conduct galley packing planning and space studying for new product and service development.
-Calculate and deliver galley pantry weight (passenger and freighter) to Engineering, Flight Operations, Airport Service -Delivery and Cargo through Catering Planner.
-Coordinate with other catering teams in development of packing plans for new catering products and onboard requirements.
-Address galley packing comments and pantry weight queries from other departments.
-Standardise stowage location and loadings.
-Support galley design projects and improvement initiatives.
-Maintain custom forms.
-Develop contingency galley packing plan for ad-hoc flight operations.
-Provide galley packing planning support during catering disruption.
-Provide information to relevant department for new aircraft project study or evaluation.
-Review and answer crew feedback, passengers' feedback, and management enquires.
-Issue notices to caterers such as Notice to Business Partners (NTBP) when required.
-Update manuals such as Catering Operations Manual (COM), Policy and Procedures Manual (PPM), Service Equipment Manual (SEM) when required.
-Assist Catering Operations Planning and Standards Manager on projects when required.
Requirements
-Tertiary education or recognised qualification in service or training.
-A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience in airline related industry.
-People management.
-Communication and interpersonal skills.
-Computer literacy.
-Written and spoken English and Chinese.
-Relevant skills in galley space analysis and planning.
